    The Rock Market
In years gone by when the copper-mines at Avoca were being worked, a great market was held weekly at Kilcashel. Produce of various kinds such as potatoes, and other vegetables, butter, eggs, butter-milk etc also manufactured articles as boots ( or brogues ) clothing, and household furniture were sold at this " Rock Market " to the miners.
