    There is a cave on Johnson's land at Kilmagig where a great number of perfectly round stones about 1½ to 2 lbs weight were found a few years ago. These stones were probably used in slings by warriors in ancient warfare.

    There are five Raths in the district, one in Tigroney, one in Kilmacoo and three in Knockenree.

    There are five Raths in the district, one in Tigroney, one in Kilmacoo, and three in Knockenree. These raths are a uniform distance apart; about 1 mile:- and although the surrounding country is rugged and undulating, it is singular, that to a person standing at any one of the raths, the four others would be clearly visible. There is no local explanation for this
