  1. The Lion's Arch used to be the main entrance into Castlehoward. It had a Lion on the top of it, but it has been taken down.
    The White Bridge Hotel was one of the stopping places years ago for the Mail Coaches from Dublin to Wexford. The horses used to be changed there. The stables are there still but they have been renovated and converted into Garages. The main road from the Meeting of the Waters to Avoca which is now called the Meeting Road is often still called, by the old people around, the Coach Road.
