  1. Place Names
    There is a field on our farm
    at Thomastown called Hudson's
    Hill. There was a man named
    Michael Hudson who owned this
    farm about fifty years ago. He
    also was agent for the Carysfort
    Estate about that time. This field
    is situated above the house bounded
    by Kilahurler road on the right
    and Johnstown on the left.
    There is another field on the same
    farm called Paul's field, it also
    got it's name from the owner about
    a hundred years ago whose name
    was Paul. From this field there
    was clay raised to make bricks,
    to build the present residence on
    Thomastown.
