- There are many kinds of birds around our home, such as, the robin, blackbird, sparrow, cuckoo, swallow, thrush. The blackbird and sparrow stay with us all the year round, but the cuckoo and swallow fly away to Africa. The blackbird builds its nest of moss and clay. It lays about six green speckled eggs. The swallow builds its nest with mud and clay. It lays about six eggs.
