  1. My Home District
    The townland in which I live is Cronawinna. It is in the parish of Aughrim and in the Barony of Ballinacor. There are two hundred acres of land in Cronawinna. The houses in Cronawinna are of cement walls, with thatched or tiled roofs.
    The name the most common in my district is O'Byrne. Mr Stapleton of Sheeanabeg is the oldest person in my home district He can tell stories in English but does not know Irish.
    Houses were more numerous in my district in former years. There are many ruins of houses on Cronawinna Hill. In one of them an old piper
