  1. Ballinacor in Glenmalure was the seat of the Chief Sept of O'Byrne. The ancient castle, a fine structure has been pulled down and upon its foundation partly reconstructed from its ruins stands the house of Captain Kemys's. The drawbridge has been also removed, but the locality in other respects retains all the natural features of its former entourage unchanged.
