    carried on here in recent years and people
    by the name of Kane's carried it on. They were nicknamed Kanes the Hatters. People
    by the name of Doyle carried on
    another hat industry & they were
    nicknamed Doyle's the Hatters. There was also a bakery carried on in this town in a public house, called the Vartry House, and people by the name of Doyle's
    owned it.
    There was another bakery in this village too and people by the name of Kennedy's carried it on. People by the name of Byrnes now reside in that house
