    Andrew Thomas butler to Capt. Hugo who lived at Drumeen almost on the same site as Glendalough House. A splendid rifle-shot surpassed only by Harman the gamekeeper. Both were secretly implicated with the rebels 1798.
    Capt. Hugo gave a dinner to his Castle friends. After dinner there was a pigeon shooting contest. Hugo brought out Thomas to show his prowess. Thomas never missed a shot until he noticed the the suspicious looks of the English
