  1. Mass Glen. In a place called Slemain one mile from this school there is a place called a Mass Glen. Mass was said there during the Penal days
During that time there were three Catholic churches in this district called The Three Sisters.
One was at Derrylossary, this is now a protestant church
The second was in a place (c) now called Knockatemple a few stones still remain a third was built on a farm which belonged to the family of Murphy on the Lough Dann road. Fifty years a church bell was found on this land by a man named Keogh it was sold at an auction but was bought back by the clergy. it is supposed to be in the museum Dublin. There is a mass path leading from Inchavore above Lough Dann to Glassnamullen, where the old church was.
