Captain Hume was shot. This stone still goes by the name of Hume's Stone.
After Moore's body had been hanging on the gibbet for a long time his mother got a protestant man named Mitchell (who owned the farm now in the possession of Mr. Driver of Carrick) to seek permission to have the body buried. Permission was granted and the body is buried in Kilranelagh graveyard.
This well cures sprains, hurts, vomiting.
The Patron was held in former times on St. John's Eve.
