There was a man one time and he was very fond of cardplaying.
No matter where there would be a game of cards in the (houses) country houses he was sure to be there. He took great interesting in card-playing.
One night he was coming home at a late hour. He had to cross a field to his house. There was a flat rock in the field and a man was sitting on it playing cards. He stood to look at him. The man asked him to play a game. He said "you play for and I will play for you and see which of us will win"
The stranger was winning and a card fell down off of the rock. The man spooped down to take it up and he saw that the stranger had a cloven foot. He found that it was not a devil at all it was a devil. The man began to get afraid and he said that it was time to be going home.
The devil pressed him to finish the game as it was the last game.
They finished the game and the devil won. The devil told the man that he would come for him that day three weeks at his own house.
When the last week was approaching the man began to get afraid and a strange feeling over
