if they agreed they would get their daughter ready for the wedding.
If a man wanted to get his son or daughter married he would wait until he would go to the fair. Then he would meet a man and have a few pints with him. Then he would ask the man was there any chance of getting his son or daughterm, and if the man agreed, they two men would go home and get their son of daughter ready for the wedding. In fact the couple that was getting married might never have seen each other until they would reach the Church.
