    customary for the bride and bride-groom to ride on horseback to and from the church.
    2. Another custom was: for the wedding party to drive to Poulapouca or other places of resort in an old "Jaunting Car".
    3. There was another custom carried on in this locality until recently which was: a racing competition between men and horses. They would arrange a certain place for the start and then they would race to the bride's house. There would be a great ovation for the winner.
    This custom has died out now.

  2. In olden times there were matchmakings.
    If a man wanted to get married his father would go to the girl's house for to mitch and he would stay there until 10 o'clock or so. Then he would ask her father or mother for her hand and
