  1. In the olden times people had many cures and they were very good cures too. Here are a few:
    1. For a sore heel get a piece of brown paper and rub soap on the paper and a drop of hot water. Then place this on the heel.
    2. For a gum boil, roast a fig at the fire and hold it to the gum.

  2. 1. A cure for boils was to melt soap on a spoon and mix it with sugar. 2. A cure for a cold was to boil butter milk and put sugar in it and drink it before going to bed.
