  1. In Donard, and around it, there are various places know by many "queer" names. They got their names because of something that happened at the place, or of its situations or the name of a man.
    Fauna got its name because it is on a slope.
    Carrigower got its name because there used be goats there, and there was always a goat standing on a rock there.
    The "mission-path" got its name because people used go to the Mission (in the church) on that "short-cut".
    Davidstown got its name because there was a great fighting man there by the name of David.
