  1. In Roscommon, there was an old Protestant man, who was a landlord. During his life he persecuted the poor Catholics. He evicted many a poor widow who had not the rent paid and gave her house to another old Protestant woman, who asked him to get it for her.
    One cold Christmas Eve, he evicted a poor widow, who had no support but a little boy, who was her only son.
    The son died and the widow was very lonely so she cursed the landlord. In two years' time the landlord
