    (or old) lady, married a man "above her" or a man with means (really - when an unexpected marriage was announced) in olden days, and even ten or twenty years ago - people said "she gave him a drink out of the little black tin" or "she worked the mogailín meidhir on him"! I know people who seriously tell of the effect of this root on some of their men friends who were "caught" by the taste of the mogailín meidhir (pron.)
