    The hollow winds began to blow.
    The clouds look black and the glass is low.
    The soot falls down and spaniels sleep.
    And spiders from their cobwebs creep.
    II
    Last night the sun went pale to bed
    The moon in hallow hid her head
    The brooding shepherd heaves a sigh
    To see a rainbow span the sky.
    III.
    The walls are damp, the ditches smell.
    Close to the pinkeye pimper nell.
