  1. In Co. Wicklow, three men were building up a ditch and they found three firkins. They thought they were three firkins of lard and they brought the lard to a chandler and sold the lard to him.
    When he examined it he found he had three firkins of gold covered with lard. The place where they found it was called "The money Holes" from that day to this.
