The present Richard Jones bought his farm from John Finlay...

The present Richard Jones bought his farm from John Finlay, and Mr Finlay told many a story about the Crickawn.
One day his men were working on the Crickawn. They said they would level the mound. Now, they had only begun when the horses bolted. One ran madly to Gibstown and dropped dead - broke his heart running. So much afraid was Finlay, that he never touched the mound after. And the present owner, Richard Jones, often said that he would not live another hour in his own house if anyone put a spade in the mound.
