  1. Hume of Humewood, about the year 1870, was a landlord, and Samuel Fenton of Leitrim was his agent. He carried out a great amount of evictions, and one of the principal ones was a widow with a family of small children.
    He was visiting her every day looking for rent. At last, on a Saturday evening, he called for his last time, and told her to be ready to be evicted on Monday morning. She begged and pleaded of him to leave her until the following week, as she had stock to sell.
    He would not listen to her pleadings, but told her that he and his sheriff would be there at an early hour on Monday morning.
    But as Fenton was going away, the widow said "Perhaps
