  1. There are some holy wells near this district. The nearest to us is the blessed well by the side of the road at Lemonstown. It is on the site where the Roman Catholic Church was. There is another blessed well at Tournant. Many sick people visited it and there were some cures reported at Lacken there is another holy well. People come from all parts in hope of a cure and at miton near newbridge there is a well used by the late Father Moore and also a well at Hollywood known as St Kevin's. People troubled with warts are cured there. at all those wells people leave something such as sticks, hair pins, crutches in thanksgiving
