  1. There were not many old castles or churches in this parish and any that were in it are now in ruins. In the townland of Leitrim a castle once stood This castle is now in ruins.
    On the summit of Church Mountain there is the ruins of a very ancient church founded there by St Philadeous. In the centre of the church there is a well in which children used to be baptized.
