- (continued from previous page)-ing building owes its origin to the Right Hon. James Worth Tynte, who built it in the year of 1758 at the cost of £1200. He lived to see the work completed, dying the same year. The Blessed Well at Dunlavin has connected with it a strange custom in connectiion with St. John the Baptist's Day of June 24th. Here on this day in by gone days the strange custom healthy growth, was a popular annual custom
- There is only one patron saint connected with this district and his name is St Nicholas
He came here in the year of four hundred and sixty. He built no monastery or church in this district, he used to preach to his converts in the Dun which is situated one mile south of Dunlavin and he also lived in it. He used to baptize his converts with the water of the holy well commonly known as St. Nichola's(continues on next page)- Collector
