Before cups became common people used to use tinnies which were shaped like a mug. Later on mugs came into use.
They had no kettles or teapots so they used to make the tea in saucepans and pots. - From information I have received from Mrs Grace Uppertown. She told me that years ago Irish people used to eat very little nourishing food as compared with the people nowadays, They used to eat two meals a day, a farmer would rise(continues on next page)
