  1. In a field on the right hand side of the Dargle Road there is a big field called the "Herd's Field". There is a big stone wall overlooking the Upper and Lower Dargle Road.
    In the wall are four big oblong shaped holes, which were said to be used during the war to put guns through when attacking the enemy.
    Years ago the field in which Barry's Amusement Park is now was called the "Belgium Field" during the Great War when the Belgian refugees came to Ireland.They were given plots in this field to grow plants and vegetables.
