- Ballyshonach Hill is situated in the townsland of Ballyshonach. This townsland stretches from the river Slaney nearby to Clonegal. The hill is on the Clonegal road. Ballyshonach means the place of the fox. There must have been many foxes around this townsland long ago.
- The Brick Field is situated in Kildavin on Redmond's land. It is only one field from the Clonegal road, and is situated at the back of the farmyard.
About forty or fifty years ago there was a pottery in Carrigduff, which is about two and a half miles from Kildavin in which they made bricks Some people say, that perhaps they got the clay in this field for the bricks. Others say it got its name because a couple of hundred years ago there were many limekilns on Redmond's land, and that(continues on next page)
