  1. My father and another man were cutting sticks about ten years ago. They saw a light coming up the field of Mr Byrne at Paulville. It kept coming up nearer until it came to the barn. They ran up to see what it was. It looked like a ball of fire, it went across the fields and back up throughout Kill. It was seen there every night up to six or seven years ago. Many have seen it and when it (came) would come to a tree near Mr Kavanagh's it would disappear. There was a man drowned in a well (near) beside the tree. He was a brother of Mr Peter Kavanagh of Rathline.
I heard this story last night from my father. he saw the light about twelve years ago. He is now fifty four years of age. I am ten years now 29th Sept 1938
