  1. Oh! Holy Virgin I know I shall one day die and perhaps that day may soon arrive. If ever I wanted your assistance it will be in these last moments, when the enemies of my salvation will re-double their efforts for my ruin. All through life you have honoured me with your protection, loaded me with your favours. You have been my mother and after God my all. Surely you will not abandon me in that dreadful hour. With all the earnestness of my Soul I beseech you to come to my aid to defend me in that last combat (when the enemies of my sal)
