  1. One night about a month ago my mother was in her bedroom about to retire. It was at midnight . Looking out of (the) window she saw in Mr Byrnes' field a light. It went through the hedges and it stopped and rested on a rick of hay belonging to Thomas Byrne of Acaun. She expected to see the rick on fire. Next day Mr Byrne was telling her that he was going up to the same field to look at cattle at about the same hour. As he was going into the (field) he met a tall skeleton in its hand was a light.
Mr Byrne said he was frightened. After passing it disappeared into Mr James Carty's field.
Many people have been frightened by that same light and Mr Carty told me that the remains of a person was found in the field about two years ago near a ditch. They were interred in a cemetery nearby.
