meal. This was made by placing the meal on a board (square) then it was wet with water which had some salt in it. The mixture was first boiled & then placed on a griddle to bake.
A flail was used for grinding corn. The barn was cleaned out & a certain amount of corn spread on the floor. It was beaten until the grain came from the shell.
The corn was ground between two large granite stones. This corn was boiled for breakfast.
