    blew off and blew down the valley & he took it as a sign that there was the spot in which he was to build the church.
    When Cromwell came to Ireland this was one of the many Churches he destroyed. A Protestant church was built in Coolknno & the bell was taken from Aghola & erected in the new building. It came back ringing through the air & was in its old place next morning. Three times it was taken & the last time it did not return to the church but remained buried in the bog.
