    2. Another place where Mass was celebrated was under a white thorn tree in a hollow near the farmyard in Mount Wolseley demesne now in possession of the Patrician Brothers. The Wolseleys cut the tree down but it has grown again since that time.

  2. During the Penal Times Mass was said on the hillside while members of the congregation kept watch for the approach of the English yeomen.
    The Altar consisted of a square stone about two & a half feet high & about & about three feet square on top. These stones were called "Mass Stones"
