    strength against him. When Daniel's wife heard of his coming she put her husband in the cradle passing him off as the baby-son. She baked two cakes putting the griddle in the middle of one for the visitor: giving the other to her husband to eat. When the Scottish giant saw the size of the baby as he ate the cake he departed saying "What must be the father like when the sun is such a hardy fellow"
    There is also a wishing well. If a person stands on it at midnight on May Eve and expresses a wish to travel on it, saying "Hie, over to Scotland" the stone immediately rises in the air and takes him away if he does not get down off it. When he reaches his journey's end and says "Hie back to Ireland", it takes him home again.
