    What they used to melt the in was a sort of a little pot with three legs under it called a grisset.
    There were rush candle sticks for holding the rush lights. If there was a lot of light needed there would be two rushes burnig together in the one candle stick. The rush candle would be caught in the candle-stick about the middle and as the candle would (be) burn it would have to be moved upwards.
