  1. In the town of Baltinglass there lived a man named Michael Hayden. He lived in a little cottage in Main Street. He was a Cooper and used to make churns milk-pails and repair the old ones also. This was very convenient for the neighbouring farmers. This man always had a number of articles ready by the fair day. He had a certain spot on the square where he used to display his goods. It was very seldom he had to take any of them home.
