  1. This wind was not as severe in this district as it was in others. There were no human lives lost but people were locked in their houses by trees falling across their doors. They had to remain there until they were let out by recuers. The roofs were blown off some houses. Many animals suffered badly some being killed in the houses. There was a number of horses killed.
