  1. Not far from Tullow, there is a district called Bough, in which there is a field known as the "Watch Field". This field came to be known as the "Watch Field" because during the Cromwellian Wars, the soldiers took a large quantity of loot from the people of the neighbourhood. They buried it in this field and in order to protect it they shot one of their number and buried him with the booty as was the custom with the pirates of that time. It is said that the trooper is
