Shrove Tuesday is called "Pancake Tuesday", owing to the fact that everyone makes pancakes on that evening.
November Night is a great time of fun for children. They dive for pennies in deep basins of water. They must bring up the pennies in their teeth. They have great fun splashing before they succeed.

On St. Stephen's Day, the wren is hunted and killed by the wren boys. Then she is decorated on a bush. The boys travel around gathering money
On November night all the people of the family gather together and get a tub of water. Nuts and money are put in the water. Then the people start to "duck" for them.
