  1. Very often travellers visit our home. Some make their living by selling things, such as tables and cans, which they make themselves on the roadside. Generally they live in caravans on lonely roads. Families, such as the Berrys, the Cashes, and the Keenans are well known in this district.

  2. A man travels from Dublin to Carlow, before the horse fair in Castledermott. He eats leavened bread. He would go into a house, and ask the woman of the house to bake this bread for him.
