  1. Local Cures.
    Long ago when doctors were very few, people had to try and cure their diseases themselves. It was usually by herbs that they cured the diseases. Some of these old cures are being used still. Mrs. Byrne of Ballyknockin Hill has a wonderful cure for worms. Any woman with her children suffering from worms goes to her, and she makes a liquid from boiled herbs and this taken three times a day before meals gives instant relief to the child after a day or two. This woman is about eighty years of age and great will be the sorrow of the people for her when she dies. I think she has never told anyone how to make
