  1. Hidden Treasure.
    The Clonegal Stone.
    About a quarter of a mile from Leighlinbride on the Rathellen road is a field called Walshe's field. In it is a large stone called the Clonegal Stone.
    It is about eight or nine feet high. There are a lot of holes about an inch apart up along the side of the stone. These are supposed to be the places where the pagans long ago used to leave their offerings for the Gods.
