  1. One of the famous Kavanagh clan. His predecessors owned a public house in Ballymurphy still possessed by a Kavanagh.
    His father, Arther, dead a number of years was the first man to bring Coal to the Ballymurphy district where turf was the common fire till his boy hood days.
    When quite a young man he purchased a penny worth ( a few lumps ) of the black stone ( coal ) and brought it home. It was put in the fire to
