  1. Ballyloughan or the "Town of the Loughlení" is the name of a townland near Bagenalstown. There is about sixty two people living in Ballyloughan now, but there was a much larger population there some years ago.
    There is an ancient forge in Ballyloughan, and a castle, there are underground tunnels around the castle and there is some unknown treasures said to be hidden there by people flying from the Danes. The place around the Castle is called the Castle farm and
