  1. Some years ago an old woman named Katty Connolly lived in a place called Stackley in the Co. Kilkenny it was a noted house for card playing and other amusements, but there was one young fellow who was not as cute as the rest and was a little nervous in the night.
    After the game of cards one night they were telling fairy stories so this boy got nervous and started for home, but from the house to the road was a long lane, and nearly the shape of a new moon. There was an old vacant house near the end of the lane called the Fairy house as there was often a light seen there at all hours of the night.
