  1. The names of the farm animals we have at home are the horse, the cow, the calf, the ass, the sheep and the pig, the duck, the hen, and the turkey. The names of the cows are, (1) the big red cow because she is the biggest of the red cows, (2) the turned in horns, because her horns are turned in, (3) the small red cow, (4) the big grey cow, (5) the short horned cow, because one of her horns is shorter than the other, (6) and the little grey cow.
    When driving the cows out of the field we say to them "Hi home", and when driving the calves out of the field we say to them :suck, suck, suck," The length of the cows house is thirty one feet and about eighteen feet wide. We call the cow-house by no other name. The cows are tied around the neck with a chain and the chain is around the stake. The tyings are made of chain and they are brought. The local farms of tyings are chins ropes, and strawropes. Some times people hang holy pictures in the cowhouse to bring luck on the cows. If anyone robbed a bird's nest especially a swallows nest, that would be build in the cowhouse it is said that the cows would milk blood
