  1. I live in Ballyine in the Parish of Borris and the Barony of St. Mullins. The Irish for Ballyine is Baile Ní h-Éin. There are 9 houses in the townland and they are all slated. There are 46 people in it. There is a stream flowing through Ballyine and a part of it is called Poulyard. There are 3 people over 70 in the townland. Their names are William Hayes, Mrs Kelly and James Kelly. These people are able to tell stories in English. The name most common in the townland is Kelly. The land in Ballyine is level. There were a lot more houses in the district in olden times than is in it now. People emigrated from the district in olden times to America and England.
