    If sheep are seen grazing at daylight, that is a sign of rain.
    If smoke goes up straight from the chimney, that is a sign of fine weather but if it blows down the chimney, that is a sign of rain.
    If sea-gulls are seen in fields, that is a sign of a storm.
    If swallows fly low, that is a sign of rain.
    If the cat sits with her back to the fire, that is a sign of rain.
    If the wind is blowing from the South East that is a sign of rain.
    If a dog is seen drinking water, that is a sign of rain.
    If the mountain appears far away, that is a sign of fine weather but if it appears near, that is a sign of rain.
