  1. There was a girl long ago and she was getting married. She envited all her neighbours to the party and among them were three old spinners.
After a while one of the old women got out to dance and when the bridegroom saw her he ran out and would not come in. The young woman did not know what to do. She asked the old woman what she would do and she told her to break a stick in two and throw it out. She did so and he came in quick as he went out and went to bed and would not get up.
She did not know what to do with him in the bed, but the third old woman told her to put a warm shovel under him and he would get up. She did so, and he got up and they lived happily afterwards.
